Ten By One

Ein nahezu hundert Meter langes, graues Gurtband zieht sich in zwei Meter Höhe durch alle neun Ausstellungsräume sowie den Eingangsbereich des Museums. Eine Ratsche versetzt das Band in maximale Spannung, wodurch es in seiner Position fixiert bleibt. An den Laibungen der Durchgänge liegen großformatige, gefaltete Schaumstoffstücke zwischen Band und Wand. Sie polstern die Kontaktstellen und verformen sich durch den Druck.

A nearly one-hundred-meter-long grey strap runs at a height of two meters through all nine exhibition spaces and the museum’s entrance area. A ratchet keeps the strap under maximum tension, ensuring that it remains firmly in place. At the reveals of the passageways, large folded pieces of foam are wedged between the strap and the wall. They cushion the points of contact, deforming under the pressure.
